Still Searching for Welders to Hire?

According to the American Welding Society, the welding industry will face a shortage of approximately 360,000 welders by 2027.  If you’re like the almost 81% of manufacturers that already can’t find enough skilled welders, it may be time to consider automating with a robotic welding tool and avoid the challenges currently found in industry:

  • Highly skilled trade where labor supply is low, and demand is high.

  • Repetitive motions run the risk of injury resulting in downtime and long lead times.

  • Manual welding is hard work and often considered dull and dirty making the trade unattractive to a new labor force.

  • Welder fatigue can cause inconsistent weld quality and potential product reject or failure.

Adding a welding tool with an integrated collaborative robot (cobot) to your production process helps to fill the hiring gap, allowing you to produce more parts while freeing up your experienced welders to focus on more complex welds.  Hiring a cobot also provides added versatility as they can handle MIG, TIG, laser, spot, and orbital welding as well as both plasma and oxy-fuel cutting.

  • Greater weld precision, speed, and consistency.

  • Risk of worker injury is reduced.

  • Robot experience isn’t required; simply teach the weld path and let the cobot do the work.

  • Consistent weld quality and reduced costs thanks to less rework saving raw materials and energy.
