Automation, Inc. COVID-19 Statements

March 30, 2020

Dear Valued Customer:

Automation, Inc. is a distributor and Value-Added Assembler of automation components and sub-assemblies, supplying critical manufacturing in the states of Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, Iowa, Nebraska, and Western Wisconsin. Certain industries have been designated “critical manufacturing” under the Department of Homeland Security’s emergency readiness programs. The United States Federal government accordingly considers segments of industries to be essential in maintaining critical essential production.

The definition of “critical essential” manufacturing comes from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Cyber & Infrastructure memo titled “Guidance on the Essential Critical Infrastructure Workforce: Ensuring Community and National Resilience in COVID-19 Response Version 1.0 (March 19, 2020)”. Their description of critical manufacturing is as follows:

Critical Manufacturing: “Workers necessary for the manufacturing of materials and products needed for medical supply chains, transportation, energy, communications, food and agriculture, chemical manufacturing, nuclear facilities, the operation of dams, water and wastewater treatment, emergency services and the defense industrial base.”

Automation, Inc. has been designated as a critical infrastructure supplier in the supply chain of Critical Manufacturing in (12) of these (13) Critical Manufacturing categories.

We intend to remain open and operational, in full compliance with State and Federal law and/or mandates, in the event of any curfews, shelter-in-place orders, and/or other mobility restrictions, so that Automation, Inc. can continue to ensure critical manufacturing production and supply during this public health emergency.

We are committed to supporting you through this difficult time in any way we can.

Thank you,

Henry O’Donnell & Scott Sorensen
